Over the years, high risk and vulnerable population have been finding partners online through various social media platforms and dating apps. However, this population is currently not linked to any HIV prevention, testing or treatment services. Know4sure intends to provide a platform where these population can have access to all HIV related services in a confidential manner.
National STD/AIDS Control Program (NSACP) in collaboration with LINKAGES project funded by USAID aims at accelerating the ability of governments and organizations working with key populations at risk of HIV to plan and implement services that reduce HIV transmission among key populations and their sexual partners and extend the lives of those already living with HIV. Know4Sure is a collaborative effort of NSACP and LINKAGES project.
KNOW4SURE is an online reservation system that aims to provide the most convenient means to make reservations for HIV testing services with the NSACP and preferred private practitioners for rapid HIV screening tests, while handling your data to ensure anonymity and privacy.
KNOW4SURE helps you to go through a short questionnaire to learn about your risk of contracting HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.
Next, KNOW4SURE helps you to locate and plan a visit to a clinic. While the services are free in government clinics and you may incur a nominal price if you choose to visit a private practitioner. The app shows you a list of these clinics that are nearest to you, asks you to choose a convenient time, then collects a few more pieces of information to plan your reservation – and then your reservation is complete. Just take note of your reservation time and come in!
KNOW4SURE is made possible with the help of USAID and PEPFAR funding to the LINKAGES Sri Lanka project. The LINKAGES team has replicated successful interventions carried out in the region through other LINKAGES regional offices. They have held series of consultations with the community to identify the gaps in reaching populations with services online. KNOW4SURE was made to bridge these gaps and provide access to HIV related services. NSACP is the owner of this platform and all related information are kept anonymous with NSACP.
Throughout your use of KNOW4SURE, you will be asked questions to help you learn about your risk for HIV/STD (sexually transmitted diseases). Your phone number will enable us to keep in touch with you for any support or information regarding HIV related services that you might require. This will also be used for you to access your results after your test. You will receive a unique code once you complete the reservation on the phone number you had provided. Keep this with you and use for accessing your results, future booking. In case you misplace the unique code, Don’t worry you can generate another one. Your phone or computer will ask you if you to provide your geographic location information, which is used to determine the clinics closest to you.
Note that the data collected in this app is for program purposes and will not be used to determine your identity. When this app requests your location data, risk related information, or past HIV testing related information, it will only be used to guide our recommendations for you, to give you the best possible clinic options and to understand overall reach of this system online. We will ensure confidentiality and anonymity of your data/information.
